How do i uninstall windows media player when it is not in the programs and features menu?

i have a acer aspire 5930 running vista 32, i have had cant open up wmp have tried many things, now i have been told to deleate the program and reinstall it again, however i cant find it in the program and features menu where you normaly uninstall programs, so i tried going in to my programs menue in the c drive to dealete it there, but it will not let me dealete any part of the wmp file, how can i solve this problem???
