What is the best approach in this situation?

I had my tubes tied on January 4, 2007 and now I noticed that I have a lump above my belly on that is very noticable through my clothes. It is nothing to do with the incision that they made under the belly on. When I push on it, I hear a crackling noise but it doesn't hurt. What should I do in this situation. My cousin who had the same tubal procedure like I did last week does not have a lump on her stomach. I called the doctors office and am waiting for them to call me back for an appt. What should one do? Thanks
